Founded in 2017 by Massimo Chiapponi, Barmas Venezia was established with a singular vision: to elevate denim through the traditions of Italian sartorial craftsmanship. Drawing upon more than fifty years of family expertise in premium denim manufacturing, the house combines the character of authentic denim with the precision, comfort and refinement typically reserved for bespoke tailoring.
Inspired by the artistic heritage of Venice and produced entirely in Italy, every garment reflects a philosophy where craftsmanship, innovation and timeless design exist in perfect balance.
Every Barmas garment is produced in Veneto, one of Italy’s most respected textile regions, in partnership with CPA Srl, a family manufacturer with more than five decades of experience.
Traditional artisanal techniques sit alongside advanced production methods, allowing the house to maintain exceptional standards while continually refining comfort, performance and longevity. The result is denim that feels considered in every detail, from its construction to the way it wears over time.

The house employs advanced ozone washing and laser-finishing technologies that dramatically reduce water consumption while minimising the use of chemical treatments. A sophisticated water recovery system allows the majority of water used during garment finishing to be purified and reused, while solar-powered production further reduces environmental impact.
These innovations are never pursued at the expense of craftsmanship. Instead, they exist to preserve it for generations to come.
Applying the principles of Italian made-to-measure tailoring to denim, each garment is designed to offer the precision of bespoke clothing with the versatility of everyday wear. Select collections are also crafted using exceptional fabrics from Loro Piana, creating denim with an unparalleled balance of softness, structure and performance.
